The GECA Master Program at Sant’Anna School prepares students to design and implement environmental sustainability policies, programs and projects. Candidates are requested to submit their applications by Tuesday, November 12, 2019.

Accomplished sustainability researchers and professionals have been teaching students from different backgrounds for careers as sustainability leaders for more than 20 years. The Sant’Anna School GECA Master Program, established in 2007, as the first program being started in Italy for waste management and recycling, is now intended for students interested in circular economy models, including both renewable and conventional energy. The program provides a rigorous and interdisciplinary understanding of energy management from the United Nations Agenda 2030 perspective: intercultural understanding, tolerance, mutual respect, and an ethic of global citizenship and shared responsibility. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the European Commission implementation of the Circular Economy Action Plan dated March 2019 commit signatories to create and implement effective solutions, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders across the water, energy, and resource management.

Students graduating from this program may pursue careers in energy policy and management in the private or public sector, sustainability-focused NGOs, and international agencies. A range of scholarships is being offered to students to increase their chances of studying at a top-ranked higher education institution in Italy. These scholarships are awarded by INPS and other organizations to fund research and studies at national and regional level.
